The TCF Canada is a test accredited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Since the end of January 2022, the TCF Canada has also been recognised by the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (Ministère de l’Inclusion, Francisation et Immigration, MIFI) to support an application to immigrate to the province of Québec.
Who should consider TCF Canada exam?
The TCF Canada is aimed at all individuals who need to certify their level of French as part of the process of economic immigration to Canada or to obtain Canadian citizenship and, therefore, need to submit an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

TCF Canada test is conducted in digital format by Alliance Française d’Ahmedabad on secure computers provided on the premises.
The TCF Canada is made up of 4 mandatory tests that assess general French language skills:
- Listening comprehension: Exam room test: 39 multiple choice questions (4 possible answers, only 1 correct answer). Duration: 35 minutes.
- Reading comprehension: Exam room test: 39 multiple choice questions (only 1 correct answer possible). Duration: 60 minutes.
- Written skills: Exam room test: 3 exercises. Duration: 60 minutes.
- Verbal skills: Individual test one-on-one with an examiner: 3 exercises. Duration: 12 minutes (2 of which are for preparation).
The TCF Canada lasts for a total of 2 hours 47 minutes.
The TCF Canada sessions are organised throughout the year. Alliance Française d’Ahmedabad is an authorised centre to organise these sessions in line with the administering body France Éducation International (FEI).

- A seat is confirmed only after successful payment.
- Once registered, no refund requests will be accepted

An official certificate of results indicating scores for each module will be issued within 15 working days. Please consider the time period necessary to receive the certificate if you’re applying for a school admission or an immigration process. You will then receive an email with your test results.
