Kathak Workshop by Vaishali Trivedi

I am a Kathak dancer/singer for the past 25 years, had opportunity to dance in more than 45 countries around the world. I have worked with several well-known artists like Mrs. Kumudini Lakhia, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Pt. Ravi Shankar and choreographers from France, Germany, Italy, USA, Switzerland, Brazil, Pakistan.

I practice and teach Kathak at Kadamb Centre for Dance, Ahmedabad for the past 20 years. I was trained in Kathak by legendary dancer/ choreographer Mrs. Kumudini Lakhia. I continue to create and perform Kathak dance performances.

How did the idea of offering a Kathak dance workshop come to mind?
As most of the schools of Dance give year a round dance training, there are few people who are curious about dance but do not have the time and means to do regular practice. They desire to regain control of their body by regular exercise and are fascinated by Kathak as dance form. This workshop gives them an opportunity to peep in to the art of form of Kathak and come closer to their body and mind.
