Michel Lestréhan’s artistic universe consists of a contemporary choreographic research as well as a practice of traditional arts: Kathakali and Kalaripayatt of Kerala. Having spent 34 years between France and India, he has been a part of many Indo-French collaborations. Michel propose an introduction to Kathakali, the dance-theater of Kerala, with historical origins, development and present condition.
The demonstration will show the hand language mudra and the facial expression navarasa and will conclude with an extract from the repertory. Please note this is a lecture/demonstration.
