Bastille Day is one of the key events of the year for French people.
It is the symbol of the transition from monarchy to democracy.
In France we celebrate it with a large military parade on the morning of 14th July, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris before the President of
the Republic: François Hollande and fireworks take place in the evening.
There is no military parade or president speech held in Ahmedabad but we do want to celebrate this very particular event by importing French
spirit in Gujarat!
In Ahmedabad join us in discovering the atmosphere of popular bal of the beginning of the 19th century: guinguette music bal, French traditional dance show, French snacks: crèpes and pain perdu and we will sing together our
National Anthem: La marseillaise. Let’s have fun and respect the French dress code: blue, white or red.
In Baroda, we will broadcast a movie that illustrates the end of the monarchy in France and the gap between the monarchy and the people that is partly at the origin of the revolution: Les Adieux à la Reine.
