Two cultures, two religions, but the same poetry… The three Leçons de ténèbres by François Couperin celebrate the death of Christ by means of a poetic and sombre text impregnated with solitude. The night also has its musical homage in northern and southern India, where it takes the form of the ragas of darkness. In this programme the works of Louis XIV’s composer are interspersed with three ragas taken from the traditional Indian repertoire. The melismas of the bansuri flute alternate with the two high baroque voices in an ethereal and mesmerizing dialogue.

It will happen on 29th of october in Ahmedabad !
